Welcome to DBS Academy

Welcome!

DBS Academy provides access to the latest Medtronic medical education information in deep brain stimulation therapies including neurosurgical and neurology-focused education materials, information specific to DBS indications, product information, eLearning modules, webinars and other therapy-related materials.

For many people with Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, dystonia*, obsessive compulsive disorder* (OCD), or epilepsy, DBS may make a difference when even small tasks have become challenging. DBS has helped some people stay independent and enabled them to keep doing the activities they love. Medtronic is dedicated to helping people live their best lives. And for decades we’ve partnered with doctors to help alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life. Visit DBS Academy to have access to the tools to aid you along your journey in treating these patients.

Within this site, you'll find two tiers of information available:

  • TIER ONE contains DBS-related information that will be available on-demand to all users.

  • TIER TWO contains more in depth therapy information related to patient identification, patient management and surgical tools across the DBS Therapy indications.

For New Users

If you're new to DBS Academy, you'll want to sign up for an account to access all the content available. We ask for a bit of information about you and your practice, but this helps us understand what content is most relevant. Also, signing up here creates an account for access to other Medtronic sites as well.

For Returning Users

If you're a returning user to the site, or have already registered with another Medtronic site, you'll need to use the email address and password you originally signed up with. If you're having issues, please let us know and we can help.

*Humanitarian Device: The effectiveness of these devices for the treatment of dystonia and obsessive compulsive disorder has not been demonstrated.
